Presiding Officers and Poll Clerks required

Huntingdonshire District Council are short of Presiding Officers (PO) and Poll Clerks (PC) for the villages on the list below for the forthcoming election on 2nd May 2024.

  • Kimbolton (PC)
  • The Eatons Community Centre (PC)
  • Little Paxton (PC)
  • Little Stukeley Village Hall (PO/PC)
  • Love’s Farm House, St Neots East (PC)
  • Methodist Church Hall Huntingdon (PO)
  • Perry Baptist Church (PO)
  • Stow Longa (PO)
  • The Christie Hall Stibbington (PO/PC)
  • The Old House Leighton Bromswold (PO/PC)
  • Upton Village Hall (PO/PC)

Presiding Officers (previous experience required of working in a polling station but will consider Poll Clerks wishing to step up to this role)

When: 6.30am to 10.30pm on Thursday, 2 May 2024

Where: Polling stations across Huntingdonshire

Pay:       £353. This includes travel costs and attending an in-person training session. These rates include fair pay rises to account for new challenges such as the requirement for voter ID.

All Presiding Officers must attend an in-person training session. Presiding Officers will also need to attend the Council Offices to collect their ballot boxes and polling booths and will be required to deliver their equipment to One Leisure St Ives at the close of poll.

Poll Clerks (no experience necessary)

When: 6.30am to 10.30pm on Thursday, 2 May 2024

Where: Polling stations across Huntingdonshire

Pay:       £254. This includes travel costs and attending an in-person training session. These rates include fair pay rises to account for new challenges such as the requirement for voter ID.

All Poll Clerks must attend an in-person training session.
