Free NHS Health Check in Wistow

Wistow Parish Council have been working with Healthy You to organise an onsite health check up for the community of Wistow to help those that are struggling to attend GP appointments due to working hours, availability of GP appointments and accessability issues.

The outreach NHS Health Check service brings assessments to community settings. It provides comprehensive health checks, behaviour-change support and lifestyle referrals, dementia guidance for 65+, mini checks for others who aren’t eligible for a full NHS check and ensures quick GP follow-up if necessary.

Eligibility
Adults aged 40 to 74 who do not have pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure.

✅ Flexible Access
Appointments are available outside standard working hours and at easily accessible locations to reduce barriers and improve uptake.

✅ Comprehensive Clinical Assessment
Each Health Check includes:

• BMI
• Blood pressure
• Cholesterol (point‑of‑care testing)
• HbA1c diabetes screening
• Pulse checks for atrial fibrillation
• Full QRISK2 cardiovascular risk score
