Jess is an experienced local government professional with a diverse career spanning law, operations management, publishing, and public administration.
For over 13 years, Jess worked as a Costs Lawyer and Operations Manager, developing extensive expertise in legal processes, business operations, client service, and organisational leadership. During this time, she built a reputation for professionalism, attention to detail, and delivering effective outcomes in complex and demanding environments.
Alongside her legal career, Jess also served as the Editor of a children’s magazine, combining creativity with strong communication and editorial skills to produce engaging content for young readers and their families.
Today, Jess is a qualified Clerk, having successfully achieved the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CILCA), the recognised professional qualification for local council officers. She is committed to supporting councils and communities through effective governance, transparency, and best practice.
Jess is also a Principal Member of the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC), demonstrating her dedication to maintaining the highest professional standards within the local government sector and continuing her professional development.
