Notice of Public Rights
The Notice of Public Rights is published each year to inform residents of their legal right to inspect the Parish Council's accounting records for the previous financial year.
This is an important part of the Council’s commitment to openness, transparency, and public accountability.
During the specified inspection period, any interested person has the right to view the Council’s accounting records and supporting documents, subject to certain legal exceptions. This allows residents to understand how public funds have been received, managed, and spent on behalf of the community.
The dates of the inspection period are set in accordance with the requirements of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 and are published alongside the Notice of Public Rights. The notice explains how residents can exercise their rights, including how to arrange an appointment to inspect the records.
By publishing the Notice of Public Rights each year, the Parish Council ensures that residents are aware of their statutory rights and reinforces its commitment to transparent decision-making, sound financial management, and accountability for the use of public money
