Risk Management Scheme & Strategy
Wistow Parish Council is committed to identifying, assessing, and managing risks that may affect its activities, services, assets, finances, and reputation. The Risk Management Scheme and Strategy provides a structured approach to recognising potential risks and implementing appropriate measures to minimise their impact.
Effective risk management supports good governance and helps ensure that the Council can continue to deliver its responsibilities safely, efficiently, and in the best interests of the community. The strategy outlines the Council’s approach to risk assessment, monitoring, and review, while the accompanying scheme identifies key areas of risk and the controls in place to manage them.
The Council regularly reviews its Risk Management Scheme and Strategy to ensure that emerging risks are identified and that existing controls remain effective. This process helps maintain resilience, accountability, and sound decision-making across all areas of council activity.
The current Risk Management Scheme and Strategy is available below and can be downloaded for reference.
