Standing Orders are the written rules that govern how Wistow Parish Council conducts its meetings and carries out its business. They provide a framework to ensure that council proceedings are lawful, transparent, fair, and consistent, helping councillors make decisions in an effective and accountable manner.

The Standing Orders set out the procedures for council meetings, including the conduct of councillors, public participation, voting arrangements, agenda management, and the roles and responsibilities of members and officers. They help ensure that all council business is conducted in accordance with relevant legislation and recognised standards of good governance.
