Code of Conduct
Wistow Parish Council has adopted a Code of Conduct based on the Local Government Association’s 2020 model document.
Under Section 27 of the Localism Act 2011, all local authorities have a duty to “promote and maintain high standards of conduct.” To fulfil this duty, Parish Councils must adopt a Code of Conduct that sets out the standards of behaviour expected from all members and co-opted members when acting in their official capacity.
The Wistow Parish Council Code of Conduct reflects the Council’s own approach and is tailored for the parish.
Any concerns or complaints regarding the conduct of a member or co-opted member should be raised with the Clerk or the Monitoring Officer in the first instance.
